A Timeless Classic

It’s nice to just “stop and smell the roses.”An iconic trend of the 1960’s is establishing itself as one of the biggest most consistent trends of the 2000’s. From daffodils to daisies and orchids, florals are a timeless classic that can make any outfit go from bland to flirty and fun.

floral2Try a flowy chiffon dress scattered with shades of pink and red roses paired with a solid color flat shoe and a daisy headband for the final touch.  It is girly, yet sophisticated, and it is the perfect outfit for a day of shopping with the best girlfriends or going out to town for an afternoon delight.

The best thing about florals is they are versatile. Think you can’t wear florals after sunset? Think again. Florals can be worn for any occasion whether it be a cozy dinner with friends or a romantic date night. They add just the right amount of color to make your outfit pop and stand out, even at night.

Floral5After floral dresses comes floral and tropical print pants. They are comfortable and easy to slip on, making them the perfect “go to” item to put a spring in your step.

However, unless you are a fashionista, proceed with caution. Be sure to keep the rest of your outfit streamlined and clean cut. Instead of trying to find another pattern to match, pair with a simple tee or blazer. It will pull the outfit together without drawing too much attention.

If you are still feeling overwhelmed or uncomfortable with wearing these daring pants, Teen Vogue’s article titled, “Love the Floral Pant Trend, but Not Sure How to Style it? Here is all you need to know,” gives step-by-step instructions on how to rock the trend without feeling out of place.

Have no fear! Florals will not lead you astray. Being seen on the streets since the 1960s, florals will continue to live on and be a timeless classic.

Flower Power

I am absolutely loving florals for this Spring and upcoming Summer season. Florals are the easiest way to give your look some color and fun, while also staying trendy. Famous model Alessandra Ambrosio was seen wearing this floral romper by Ella Moss, paired with a pair of Ray-Ban Sunglasses and simple thong sandals. Her look is simple but so chic and vivid.

I created a look inspired by Alessandra’s romper: a floral romper by NastyGal, simple chestnut gladiator sandals by Stuart Weitzman, a blush colored Paraty bag by Chloe, and some gold cat-eye sunglasses by Christian Dior.

While this look includes mostly soft and neutral colors, it is still an eye-catcher and perfect for a sunny day!
