Try these scarf looks with the classic leather jackets over overalls, midi-skirts, or dresses, all toughened up with some ~neckcessory~ flair. Each look, regardless of how different it may be, was tied together with the simplest of accessories- and one that definitely won’t break the bank. If the arm cuff isn’t funky enough for you, perhaps you’ll like this next trend: ear cuffs. Ear cuffs give the impression that you have multiple ear piercings, without actually needing to have your ears pierced. The ear cuff can sit mainly behind your ear or clip on to the front and back. This spring it’s time to set your earring studs aside and throw on your favorite pair of ear cuffs instead.

How to Style your Look for Exam Day

If you’re a student, you know what it’s like to dread exam day. Spring is a time when the weather gets warmer and the fashion gets lighter and brighter.

The presence of spring also reminds us of our impending exams. Although it’s often natural to let your fashion choices suffer and take a back seat to your studies, Leah Dagg on gives us some tips on how to dress for an exam so that you can look cute while still staying focused.

First she advises that you pin your hair up.  When you’re writing exams, you don’t want to have to worry about your hair falling in your face.  Pinning your hair up in a messy bun is a great way to look stylish while still being comfortable for your exam.

While Leah notes how tempting it is to wear sweatpants to an exam, she also points out that it’s important to feel confident on exam day.  Let this confidence show by wearing your favorite cute skinny pants with a comfy tee and a touch of makeup.  A little lip-gloss and mascara can go a long way!

Accessorizing can be an important part of your exam day outfit.  Leah advises not wearing clunky bracelets because they can make noise while you’re writing and therefore be a distraction to you and your fellow classmates. Chunky rings may also slow down your writing.  So, stick to a necklace or a pair of earrings.  After all, if you’re wearing a plain comfy tee, a cute chunky necklace may be the perfect way to add some style to your look!

Another great piece of style advice is to layer your clothing.  You want all your focus to be on your exam, and not on whether you’re too hot or cold.  Plan for all types of indoor conditions because you never know whether they’ll have the heat or air conditioner on high.

Last but not least, don’t forget to wear your lucky charms!  I had an oversized navy and white plaid button-down shirt that I wore to almost every one of my exams in university.  Call me superstitious, but sometimes it’s best to wear something that will comfort you during this stressful time.  Once you’ve gotten your perfect exam look, you’re one step closer to a perfect exam!

With Coachella happening this past weekend, some of the hottest celebrities were wearing their best indie boho Spring styles.  Paris and Nicky Hilton looked angel-like in an all-white ensemble at the festival.  From white dresses to white skirts and white tops, white clothing is taking over the clothing racks this season.  Paris Hilton looks stylish and a tad quirky in a long high-waist white skirt.  She shows off some skin with a white mesh bra top.  Paris adds some fun white accessories with her cat-eye sunglasses and her large quilted bag.

Nicky Hilton looks casual and cute in a white crocheted lacy dress and a large white satchel.  Her funky reflective sunglasses add a cool vibe to her look.  Both ladies finish off their outfits with simple yet feminine nude-colored flats.  Check out the image below to see how you can get a similar look minus Paris’ bunny ears!

Hot New Trend Alert: Pastel Hair Color

We all know that pastels bloom in the spring, but this season pastel colors are stretching beyond clothing.  Some of our favorite celebrities like, Katy Perry, Nicole Richie, Hilary Duff and Jennifer Lawrence are adding a little spring color to their hair.

Katy Perry opted for a pretty lavender color, while Nicole Richie went for the classic pink.  Hilary Duff however, was a lot more daring with her decision to dye her hair a shade of greenish-blue.

A recent InStyle article gives us tips on how we can experiment with our hair color.  Pastels tend to fade quicker than other colors, but the article advises that if you’re a bit indecisive, perhaps you should opt for a coloring method that can be washed out.  If you’re starting with a lighter hair color, you’re in luck because dying it will be an easier task.  If you’re like me and you have brown hair, you’ll have to do some extensive bleaching before getting your desired pastel color.

Personally, I’ve thought about dying my hair several times, but haven’t yet taken the plunge.  Recently, the ombre look has gotten my attention.  Ombre gives you the best of both worlds because you can experiment with your color without having to worry about damage from dying all of your hair especially the part right next to your roots.  Also, if you don’t like the new color you’ve added to the bottom of your hair, you could just cut it off.

Jennifer Lawrence looks edgy and chic in the picture below where she experiments with pastel pink by adding it to only the bottom of her hair.

This Spring’s Hottest Fashion Trends

With the warmer weather on its way, it’s time to start freshening up your wardrobe with new fun trends for spring.  Let your style blossom in relaxed silhouettes and floral patterns.  The Huffington Post gives us some new ideas on how to incorporate the latest trends into our look.

Free People Jeans at Bloomingdales ($198.00)
Free People Jeans at Bloomingdales ($198.00)

To start, it’s time to uncover your flare jeans because this spring it’s all about the 70’s vibe.  Wear your flare jeans with a basic top or jazz them up a bit with a fancier silk top for going out at night.

Give your outfit some flare by wearing pastel accessories via handbags, shoes, and jewelry.  These pastel items will add a soft, spring touch to your look.

On those chilly nights, keep warm with long over-sized cardigans and chic booties.

Opt for booties in a boho style or ones with studs or buckles. Booties have been all the rage this past winter, and are still going strong into the spring season.

If you’re tired of carrying over-sized shoulder handbags, you’re in luck because small cross body bags are in style.  The best part about this trend is, you can be stylish and have your hands free at the same time, while out with your friends. Throw your small bag across your body and keep your hands free this spring season.

If you’re looking to buy a new dress, it’s time to go crazy with fringe. Fringe dresses were wildly popular at the past New York Fashion Week.  The Huffington Post article advises us to look to accessories for fringe as well.  That includes handbags, jewelry, and even shoes!
